Chinese online game developer and operator Shanda Games (Nasdaq: GAME), a subsidiary of Shanda Interactive, and Japanese game developer Square Enix today announced a strategic partnership on mobile gaming development. As part of the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop and localize four well-known titles to be launched in mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, and Southeast Asia within a year: Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, and Diffusion Million Arthur. The mainland China and Taiwan versions will be operated by Shanda Games while the Korean and Southeast Asia versions will be operated by Korean online game developer and Shanda Games subsidiary Actoz Soft.

Shanda Games also released details on its mobile gaming pipeline, with plans to release more than 25 high-quality mobile games by the end of 2013, including Dragon Nest Labyrinth, a mobile game based on South Korean subsidiary Eyedentity's 3D MMORPG Dragon Nest, and 3D SNGs from Actoz Soft's wholly-owned subsidiary Playpie Games including Fallin Fallin and Hell Lord.
