Rumor: Suning.com, Masa Maso in Final Stage of Acquisition Talks

An e-commerce industry source revealed on October 16 that acquisition talks between Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning's (002024.SZ) e-commerce site, Suning.com, and apparel e-tailer Masa Maso management and investors, including Sequoia Capital and Northern Light Venture Capital, have nearly reached the final stages, and that a deal could be announced in advance of November 11 "Singles' Day" sales promotions. Sales revenues for Masa Maso broke RMB 500 mln in 2011, and the company's plans call for 2012 sales of at least RMB 1 bln.
