Unicom: WCDMA Smartphone Sales to Exceed 100 Mln Units in 2012

Chang Xiaobing, chairman of China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH), revealed during the 18th National People's Congress in Beijing that the operator expects 2012 WCDMA smartphone sales to exceed 100 mln units.

Wang Xiaochu, chairman of China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK), revealed in January 2012 that 2012 CDMA terminal demand was expected to exceed 80 mln units, including 45 mln 3G smartphones. Li Yue, president of China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), announced at the China Mobile Terminal Supply Chain Summit in Beijing this September that TD-SCDMA terminal sales this year would exceed 60 mln units.
