Baidu to Release Siri-Like Mobile Voice Recognition Software

Yue Guofeng, general manager of Chinese internet company Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) cloud division, today announced that Baidu will soon release a voice recognition assistant mobile application similar to iOS 6's Siri, possibly as soon as the end of November. Voice recognition technology is not particularly difficult, according to Yue, who pointed out that Baidu has already incorporated voice recognition technology into its mobile search and input method editor software as well as researched a variety of different systems.
