TD-LTE to Drive RMB 1.5 Trln for China's 2012-2014 GDP

Recently, during the 14th annual 2012 China Hi-Tech Fair, China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) VP Li Zhengmao explained that, "From 2012-2014, China Mobile's TD-LTE network will contribute more than RMB 1.5 trln to China's GDP, RMB 360 bln of which will come from handset sales."

China Mobile has recently launched TD-LTE network trials for a number sky scrapers in Shenzhen, including Shenzhen's Kingkey 100. Next year China Mobile plans to set up a large number of TD-LTE base stations around Shenzhen, providing coverage to all of the area comprising Shenzhen's original special economic zone.
