China Telecom Sees TMall Singles Day Sales of RMB 18 Mln

China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) official store on e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group's B2C subsidiary TMall ranked first among China's mobile operators in Singles Day (November 11) promotional sales according to Taobao DataCube, selling 13,353 handsets with transaction volume reaching RMB 17.88 mln. Guangdong Unicom's official store ranked second with 1,916 handsets sold, followed by China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) with 366.
China Telecom's TMall Singles Day promotion, overseen by Guangdong Telecom, offered six smartphone models. Aside from the Huawei C8825D, priced at RMB 700, the other five handsets were sold at an average price of RMB 400 and sold out. A representative of Guangdong Telecom's mobile internet division said that the HTC T328D sold out in one hour, while all 5,103 units of the Xiaomi 1S sold out in 90 minutes. Sales reached RMB 10 mln within five hours.
