Rumor: Suning.com to Restructure into 8 Departments

Ebrun, 2/19/13

According to an industry source, Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning's (002024.SZ) e-commerce platform, Suning.com, will be restructured into the following major business departments: online shopping, mobile, local lifestyle, travel, digital applications, logistics, service management, and finance. The online shopping department will be divided into four "core units."

The source stated that this news originated from a quarterly meeting that was recently convened by the company. Another source has revealed that during this meeting, Suning officially established an e-commerce operations center. Li Bin, former executive vice president of Suning.com, has been promoted to president of the new center and concurrently serves as assistant to the president of the company.
