Rumor: Giant to Introduce Online Gaming Finance Product
Beijing Business Today, 7/29/13
Chinese online game developer and operator Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) has filed an application to trademark the word "Quan'e Bao" with China's Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry & Commerce. Giant Interactive has also confirmed that the company has registered a relevant domain name and official microblogging account for the "Quan'e Bao" service.
According to industry insiders, the "Quan'e Bao" service may be similar to Chinese third-party payment processor Alipay's "Yu'e Bao" account balance investment service, adapted for the online gaming market. The "Quan'e Bao" service may also look to introduce other value-added services in addition to online gaming transactions.
