Rumor: Shanda Invests in Handmade Products C2C Site Wowsai

According to an industry insider, Chinese online media and game operator Shanda Interactive has made a USD 8-digit investment in Beijing-based Wowsai Information Technology, operator of C2C handmade products e-commerce site Wowsai.

Established in 2008, Wowsai enlists approximately 1,200 designers, handcrafters, and artists to sell their self-designed products on the company's C2C e-commerce platform. Wowsai received angel investment from Wang Xiao.

U.S.-based C2C handmade products e-commerce platform operator Etsy has reportedly begun negotiations with Wowsai in regards to a potential partnership in the China market.
