BiaNews, 10/14/13

Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group's newly formed lifestyle services business division, Tao Diandian, has begun recruitment in 15 cities across China, hiring 5-15 employees in each city. The sales and marketing team responsible for early marketing of Alibaba's B2B business will also join Tao Diandian to promote the division's services.

According to an industry insider, Alibaba will look to Chinese digital map provider AutoNavi (Nasdaq: AMAP) for technical support in an effort to boost O2O services on its Tao Diandian platform. The source has also indicated that Alibaba plans to acquire Chinese online ratings and group buy site Dianping.
