Social Media Marketing Firm Kongming Lands USD 8-Digit Funding

Beijing-based social media marketing solutions provider Kongming has confirmed the receipt of a USD 8-digit new round of funding from a consortium of investors led by Fosun International's (0656.HK) Modern Property Capital Limited, with participation from previous investor Fidelity Growth Partners Asia. CVCapital acted as the exclusive financial advisor for the transaction.
Founded in 2010 by partners E Wei and Feng Chao, Kongming released its first social media management tool, "Kongming Social Manager," in 2011. In 2012, Stephen Chu, formerly GM of WPP Group member Agenda Corporation, and Summer Qin, also from Agenda, joined Kongming as head of operations and head of the company's Shanghai office, respectively.
Kongming has since grown to provide a range of products and services, including social data analysis, social interactivity tracking, customer relationship management, and social advertising. Kongming's client list includes Nike, Shanghai Volkswagen, Mars China, Costa Coffee, the NBA, and other enterprises, as well as more than 30,000 small and medium enterprise clients and individual clients.
