Xiaomi Announces 'Redmi Note' Pricing

Beijing-based Android device maker Xiaomi has revealed that the standard and high-end configurations of its newly-released "Redmi Note" ("Hong Mi Note") smartphone will retail for RMB 799 and RMB 999, respectively. Pre-orders for the handset are now being accepted on the mobile client version of Chinese internet firm Tencent's (0700.HK) QZone SNS platform.

Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin indicated on his personal microblog that a version of the Redmi Note supporting WCDMA networks will be released in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore no later than May of this year.
