China's OnePlus to Develop OS for India Market

OnePlus, 11/28/14

Chinese handset manufacturer OnePlus Technology has announced that the company will jumpstart development on its self-produced Android-based mobile OS for the upcoming launch of the company's OnePlus One smartphone in India. The OnePlus One has run on Android-based OS developer Cyanogen's "CyanogenMod" in China and overseas markets, but following the signing of an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen and Indian electronics company Micromax granting Micromax the exclusive rights to CyanogemMod in India, OnePlus will release its smartphone in India using a self-developed mobile OS. OnePlus will give the OS a full release in February, following an initial release in December.
