China's Telcos Launch Pre-orders for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) and China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) will begin presales for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus beginning today. Sales will open in line with the global market on September 25, though the first batch will comprise only a limited number of units.
All three will offer iPhones that are bound by contract or available unlocked and without a carrier phone plan. China Mobile customers preordering unlocked phones online before September 24, and successfully purchasing the phone before December 2015, can obtain 2 free months of 1GB monthly data on any network using 2G, 3G or 4G. China Mobile will also offer 4G packages with monthly fees ranging from RMB 58 to RMB 588, and users can choose durations of either 12 or 24 months. 24-month contracts with higher monthly fees will receive the largest discounts.
Chinese mobile phone retail chain Beijing Digital Telecom (D.Phone) (6188.HK) will also be selling the two devices, offering an installment purchase option with a minimum down payment of 10%.
