Discount Health Insurance Sales Site Datebao Secures USD 8-digit Series B+

Beijing-based Date Insurance Brokerage, operator of insurance discount sales site Datebao.com, has announced it completed USD 8-digit Series B+ funding led by China Development Financial Holding and with participation from Fosun Kinzon Investment Management. The new funding gives Date Insurance Brokerage a valuation of USD 200 mln.
Zhou Lei, CEO of Date, said that the capital raised would be used to improve the company's health insurance ecosystem, and to promote greater cooperation on cost controls between commercial insurance, health management organizations, and hospitals (the insurance pays for medical expenses and supervision of both inpatient and outpatient care for its users).
In the future Datebao.com also plans to launch large-scale platforms for health insurance products, personal health management, and healthcare services in order to provide users with an integrated portal for diagnoses, illness prevention, and health management.
