Beijing Business Today, 8/01/17

Chinese online travel service provider Ctrip (Nasdaq: CTRP) recently announced that it has established partnerships to open 100 offline travel stores throughout China, of which more than 50 have already begun operating.

Stores are located in cities including Beijing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Xi'an, and Shenzhen. The company will soon have 44 outlets operational in Beijing and more than 30 in Sichuan province.

Since Ctrip's Beijing outlets began operating in June, total sales revenue has reached more than RMB 30 mln, and the largest one-month revenue total for a single store exceeded RMB 2 mln. The average order total during the first month of operations was RMB 4,000, approximately 40% higher than the average at traditional offline travel agency outlets. The most popular products were group travel products, followed by independent travel and custom tour products.
