Live Streaming Content Firm 'Mars Digital' Raises RMB 100 Mln Pre-A

Chengdu-based live streaming content production firm Mars Digital Entertainment Culture Communication recently said that it completed RMB 100 mln in pre-Series A funding in September last year from Android device maker Xiaomi and IDG Capital Partners.

In November 2016, Mars Digital Entertainment and microblogging platform Weibo (Nasdaq: WB) launched an online live broadcast female singing group recruitment show called "Your Baby" ("Ni de Baobei"), which provided live broadcast coverage and collected audience feedback at each step in the recruitment process over a six-month period. In the future, the group's membership will not be fixed and new group members will be recruited on an ongoing basis. The show can be viewed through video platforms including Weibo and integrated short video-recording and -sharing app Miaopai.

Mars Digital Entertainment, established in August 2015, currently has more than 8,000 registered broadcasters.
