Bike-sharing App Bluegogo to Begin Large-scale Deployment of Three-speed Bike

DoNews, 8/15/17

Tianjin-based Luding Technology, operator of mobile bicycle-sharing app Bluegogo, announced today that it will begin large-scale deployment of its three-gear bicycle model Bluegogo Pro. The new deployment of Bluegogo Pro bikes will start in Beijing, and then successively roll out in Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. The company aims for Bluegogo Pro to account for half of its bicycles in the future.

Bluegogo launched the Bluegogo Pro in six cities in China on March 15. Apart from being equipped with multiple gears, the Bluegogo Pro uses a locating system that is accurate to the half meter to make it easier for users to find bicycles.

Editor's Note: In late May, a Bluegogo representative told Marbridge in a telephone interview that roughly 95-98% of the bikes Bluegogo had deployed at that time were the Bluegogo Classic model, with the Bluegogo Pro comprising the remaining 2-5%.
