Beijing-based Shouqi Group, operator of mobile car hire app Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur, recently released two new products, including an international chauffeur product and a product for transportation services connecting Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Hu Xulei, chief marketing officer (CMO) at Shouqi Group, also responded to rumors that Shouqi Group recently completed Series B funding, saying that the funding round has gone smoothly and that the company will soon make a public announcement.
The international chauffeur product includes two components: airport pick-up and drop-off services, as well as private car booking services. The product is operated in partnership with online and mobile car rental platform China Car Experts (Shouqi Zuche), Tongcheng International Car (Tongcheng Guoji Yongche), Kanghui Tourism, and Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group's (NYSE: BABA) travel platform Fliggy. Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur is responsible for coordinating the product and upholding service standards, while partnering enterprises provide the chauffeur services.
The international chauffeur product will offer four features. First, it will offer unified pricing to standardize all fees. Second, it will provide value-added services such as Chinese-language tour guide services, custom itineraries, and explanations of scenic attractions. Third, vehicle drivers will provide free standby services for passengers for up to 90 minutes. Fourth, it will offer transparent and open payment standards.
Shouqi Group's international chauffeur product aims to cover 217 cities in 30 countries by the end of August, and will expand its operations to reach 1,500 cities in 130 countries in September.
Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur also launched a new Shenzhen-Hong Kong transportation product today. The product allows travelers to pass through customs points quickly, avoid disembarking from their vehicle, undergo all inspection and document check processes within the vehicle, and travel directly to their destination. The product is priced at between RMB 700 and RMB 800. The service will use 200 Alphard minivans with both Hong Kong and Shenzhen license plates for transportation. Hu Xulei said that due to Hong Kong policies it will not be possible to call for a ride from within Hong Kong, and the service will only offer one-way and round-trip transportation from Shenzhen. Shouqi Group also plans to extend the service to add a Zhuhai-Macau route.
