JD Logistics, Sinopharm Ally on Drug Warehousing, Delivery Services

Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com's (Nasdaq: JD) self-operated logistics service JD Logistics, China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm), and six other pharmaceutical warehousing and delivery enterprises have formed a strategic partnership to provide nationwide drug warehousing and delivery services for drug manufacturers, wholesalers, chain stores, hospitals, and clinics.

According to the agreement, JD Logistics will use its warehousing, logistics, and financial expertise to establish a pharmaceutical warehouse that utilizes cloud computing technologies. JD Logistics will also build a logistics and delivery network covering delivery vehicles and drivers, network backbone delivery, and final destination delivery. The company will also formulate solutions for drug safety and tracking.
