Recruitment Platform Boss Zhipin Implicated in Death of Job Applicant
Sina Tech, 8/04/17
Beijing-based mobile recruitment platform Boss Zhipin, operated by Huapin Borui Network Technology, has come under fire after reports emerged of the mysterious death of job applicant Li Wenxing, who was involved in a multi-level marketing scheme after finding a job listing on Boss Zhipin.
The platform yesterday acknowledged that there are loopholes in its systems, particularly with its policy of allowing an account to post one job posting without being verified. If the listing is not reported by users, then the platform will not necessarily verify the listing.
A Boss Zhipin public relations spokesperson said that the company is working to make changes to its platform, with a requirement to verify all listings on its platform.
Reporters have found that rival online recruitment platforms Zhaopin (NYSE: ZPIN), Lietou.com, and Lagou.com all require authentication of the listings at the time of posting, but discovered some loopholes for making job postings on Ganji.com, as the site did not require verification of the listing.
