PPStream Sues PPLive

Shanghai-based P2P video service provider PPS (PPStream) has sued rival PPLive (aka PPTV), claiming the latter has broadcast PPStream's exclusively licensed content without permission for several years. PPStream alleges that PPLive has to date infringed on PPStream's exclusive rights to 60 television programs, 28 of which PPLive has refused to cease broadcasting. PPStream claims that PPLive's IPR infringement has severely harmed the legal rights of PPStream's product, advertisers, copyright holders and users.

PPStream said it has already submitted evidence of PPLive's piracy to the Shanghai Notary's Office for preservation and has currently filed 20 charges of infringement, with more currently in processing.
