Chengdu Mobile Launches iPhone 4 Discount Promotion

A Chengdu Mobile customer service representative recently told journalists that Chengdu Mobile had launched an iPhone 4 promotional campaign at the end of 2010. Customers can purchase an iPhone 4 for RMB 5,400 at local Chengdu Mobile service halls, RMB 500 below China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) RMB 5,880 price point. Users can choose between RMB 188 and RMB 288 monthly calling plans.

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) is rumored to have reached an agreement with Apple concerning the iPhone, though a China Mobile employee yesterday dismissed the rumors as false.
