HTC Leads China's RMB 1,500+ Smartphone Market in June 2012

According to Chinese market research firm Sino-MR, Taiwanese handset vendor HTC led China's market for smartphones priced at RMB 1,500 or above in terms of units sold in June, with a 16% share, surpassing Apple. HTC had a 13.3% market share in May behind Samsung and Apple, up from 6.4% in April. In H2 2012, HTC's OneX flagship phone was available in TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and CDMA2000 EV-DO models in partnership with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK), and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH).
