Rumor: Xiaomi, Sina Partner on SNS Instant Messaging

An industry source revealed today that Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi recently formed a strategic partnership with internet company Sina (Nasdaq: SINA), to be announced publicly next week. The source said that the partnership could link the companies' Meyou (Sina) and MiTalk (Xiaomi) messaging services as a move against rival Tencent's (0700.HK) Weixin (Wechat) mobile messaging application.
