DoNews, 5/05/14

According to an industry source, Rajax Information, operator of online food ordering platform Ele.me, plans to establish a strategic cooperation with Chinese online ratings and group buy site Dianping. The source also revealed that Ele.me has received an 8-figure USD investment from Dianping.

Ele.me issued a notice on May 4 to media outlets inviting them to a press conference to be held on May 6. In the invitation, the company hinted that Ele.me has established an in-depth cooperation with a major internet company in mainland China and has obtained a new strategic investment.

Editor's Note: Ele.me has confirmed that the company has received funding from Dianping, but stated that ultimate control of Ele.me will remain with the company's founders. Ele.me will reportedly seek an IPO within the next three years. For more background on this topic, please see "Online Food Ordering Platform Ele.me Lands USD 25 Mln Funding" MD 11/27/13 issue.
