Rumor: JD.com Acquires Russian E-commerce Platform

Ebrun.com, 5/19/14

According to a company source, Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform JD.com (Jingdong) has completed the acquisition of a top-five Russian B2C e-commerce platform, as well as a Russian logistics company. JD.com executives are reportedly targeting Russia as the company's first market for overseas expansion.

Editor's Note: In an e-mail exchange with Marbridge, a JD.com communications representative denied this rumor, saying JD.com had not acquired either a Russian B2C e-commerce platform or a Russian logistics company.
