Wi-Fi Module Firm High-Flying Lands RMB 8-digit Baidu Funding

Shanghai-based Wi-Fi module manufacturer High-Flying Electronics Technology announced today the completion of RMB 8-digit Series A funding from Chinese internet firm Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU).

Founded in December 2009, High-Flying Electronics designs, develops, and produces embedded Wi-Fi modules for use in smartphones and other smart products. With sales of up to 200,000 Wi-Fi units per month, the company's clients include telecom equipment companies ZTE (0763.HK; 000063.SZ) and Huawei Technologies, and wearable device manufacturer Andon Health (002432.SZ), among others. The company has also collaborated with US tech company Marvell to develop a ZigBee personal area network (PAN) solution.
