Reading App 'iReader' Lands USD 100 Mln Series A Funding

Beijing-based Zhangyue Technology, operator of mobile reading app iReader, has reportedly completed nearly USD 100 mln Series A funding from Guojin Capital Group and Guangdong-based animation company Alpha Animation and Culture (002292.SZ), giving Zhangyue a market valuation close to USD 1 bln. Company co-founder Jia Shengting confirmed the funding round, but did not disclose the exact amount raised. The funding will be used for content purchasing and creation of an industry chain.
