Keywords: By default, searching will find documents that contain all keywords in the search query. e.g. Searching for: Google Baidu advertising will return all documents that contain the word Google and the word Baidu and the word advertising although not necessarily in that order.

OR: The | symbol can be used to search for one keyword OR another keyword. E.g. a search for Shanda | Tencent Google will match any documents that contain either Shanda OR Tencent, as well as the keyword Google. Searching for Shanda | Tencent Google cooperation | sue would find any documents containing Shanda OR Tencent, and the keyword Google, and either the word cooperation OR sue. e.g. (Shanda OR Tencent) AND Google AND (cooperation OR sue).

Keyword Phrases: To search for a keyword phrase, surround the phrase with double quotes " e.g. A search for: "online gaming" will return all documents that contain the phrase "online gaming", but not those documents that contain the words online and gaming separated by other words.

Keyword Exclusion: To exclude documents containing a certain keyword, you can use the - symbol. e.g. A search for: "online gaming" -Shanda will find all documents containing the phrase "online gaming", but not the word Shanda. A search query cannot only contain excluded keywords. e.g. a search for -Shanda without any other keywords will return an error.

Partial Matches: By default, searching will only match exact words. e.g. A search for TD will not match the word TD-SCDMA. The * symbol can be used as a wildcard to enable partial matching, e.g. a search for TD* will match TD-SCDMA as well as TD-LTE, TD-HSDPA etc. Wildcards can be placed at either the beginning or the end of a word, e.g. abc* will match any words that begin with abc, *abc will match any words that end with abc, and *abc* will match any words that contain abc.

Combinations: All the above symbols can be combined in a single search, e.g. a search for "online gaming" "fiscal report" -(shanda|giant|tencent) will find any documents containing "online gaming" AND "fiscal report" but NOT Shanda, Giant OR Tencent.
