Journalist Reports Poor TD-SCDMA User Experience

China News, 3/27/08

A journalist visiting a TD-SCDMA 3G experience center in Shanghai has failed, despite repeated attempts, to successfully complete a video call. Staff explained that this may have been due to technicians working on the network.

When using mobile TV there were significant delays in opening mobile TV interfaces, with unsynchronized audio and pauses of one or two minutes.

According to the results of a visitor survey displayed at the store, 52% were very pleased with the displays; 53% would 'definitely' use 3G services, and 39% would 'consider' using them. According to staff the outlet is receiving twenty visitors per day.
