MIIT Releases H1 Electronics and IT Products Statistics

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released figures on indicators for China';s electronics and information technology industry from January to June of this year yesterday. Software industry growth was particularly notable with a rate of 30.4%; LCD television displays also increased in number by 65.8%, to more than 10.3 mln units. Personal computer production grew by 23.2% to 66.49 mln units, of which 72%, or 47.98 mln, were notebook computers – a PoP growth of 33.3%. Server growth declined by 41.2%, however, to 1.8 mln units.
The display market grew by just 2.9% to 69.48 mln units, of which CRT displays accounted for less than 1%.
