Rumor: Sina Weibo to Release Virtual Currency in Q3 2011

Chinese internet company Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) will introduce virtual currency for its Weibo microblogging platform in Q3 2011, revealed by an industry source recently. According to Sina Weibo's online documentation for API developers, one "Weibi" ("Micro-coin") will be equal to RMB 1, and can be used to purchase virtual items and value-added services.
