HTC Invests USD 3 Mln in Ding Ding Map Mobile App

Dfdaily.com, 12/02/11

Taiwanese mobile handset manufacturer HTC (2498.TW) recently invested USD 3 mln in local listings search engine Ding Ding Map (www.ddmap.com) to promote the service's mobile coupon application. HTC initially invested USD 5 mln in Ding Ding Map in May 2010.

Ding Ding Map bills its service as a local listings information services site based on its self-developed location and search technology. Expanding on its PC user base and merchant resources, Ding Ding Map has released three mobile applications: local search app Ding Ding Shenghuo, mobile coupon client Ding Ding Youhui, and LBS client Ding Ding Qian Dao ("Check-In"). Over the six months since the company released Ding Ding Youhui, daily user growth has risen to 28,000 new users per day. Vendors for the service include restaurants, entertainment venues, cosmetics, leisure, and travel companies.
