Rumor: SARFT, China Mobile Execs to Lead National Cable Operator

China's consolidated national cable TV operator China Radio and Television Network will be led by a chairman from State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's (SARFT) deputy director ranks and a president from China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK), according to an industry source. Officials from the Ministry of Culture will also reportedly participate in the operator's senior management. During the 2012 "Two Sessions" of the National People's Congress (NPC) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee (CPPCC), China Mobile chairman Wang Jianzhou said China Mobile is considering investing in China's cable TV networks.
