Rumor: China Mobile to Increase Sales of Non-customized 3G Handsets

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) has recently increased sales of non-operator-customized TD-SCDMA handsets, according to an industry source, and will soon convene a meeting of its handset vendor partners to outline cooperation methods, management workflow, and policies and standards regarding non-operator-customized handsets.

China Mobile requires that participating vendors already have TD-SCDMA handsets available on the market as of this year, as well as products slated for release during the December 2012 - February 2013 period.
