Foxconn Invests RMB 5 Bln in Nanning Production Facility

Terry Gou, chairman of Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW), has signed an agreement with the government of Nanning, Guangxi province, to invest RMB 5 bln to build a second tablet, PC, and smartphone production facility in the city. Foxconn will also establish three bases - an advanced technology manufacturing base, a trade and commerce base, and a logistics base - in Nanning as part of Guangxi's 12th Five-Year Plan.

According to a representative at Foxconn's Shenzhen headquarters, Shenzhen will remain the company's base of Mainland China operations in the near future.
