Smart Fitness Apparel Maker BodyPlus Completes RMB 8-digit Series A

Beijing-based smart fitness apparel maker BodyPlus Technology has won RMB 8-digit funding from venture capital firm Shuzhi Jiangren and underwear manufacturer Tengfei Underwear Technology.
BodyPlus operates a personal sports health management platform of the same name, comprised of its smart clothing, equipment, mobile app, and cloud-based data analysis and storage. BodyPlus smart clothing collects biometric activity data, which users can access through the mobile app.
BodyPlus uses stamina estimation, customized planning, real-time data monitoring, and report feedback to help users develop personalized training programs. The smart clothing can also perform recovery assessment and medical evaluation, prompting users of sport-related or disease risks, and taking preventative measures.
BodyPlus has partnered with American chemicals conglomerate DuPont to release heart-rate-monitoring smart clothing BodyPlus Aero, which collects data on heart rate, breathing, and muscle activity for big data analysis.
BodyPlus also offers smart exercise clothing BodyPlus EMG and professional edition BodyPlus PRO, which mainly collect information of heart rate, breathing, and electrical activity of skeletal muscles (electromyography).
BodyPlus, founded in July 2015, previously won angel funding in 2015.
