Guangzhou-based medicine e-tailer 111.com.cn has formed a strategic partnership with pharmaceuticals and medical equipment trade company Jointown Pharmaceutical Group (600998.SH) to collaborate on online marketing and delivery.
Jointown will conduct medical product discounts with 111.com.cn, covering Chinese and Western medicine and medical equipment. Meanwhile, Jointown's online and mobile B2C pharmacy platform Ehaoyao.com will pilot joint online marketing initiatives with 111.com.cn, combining their traffic streams.
In addition, both sides will explore in-store pick-up and store delivery models for online orders. 111.com.cn, which is operated by Guangdong No.1 Pharmacy Chain, will provide customers with 6-hour delivery service relying on Jointown's 100,000 self-operated and third-party-partnered offline stores, as well as Jointown's nationwide delivery logistics network. After a customer places an order on 111.com.cn, the delivery service will be fulfilled by the nearest store in the customer's city.
The two sides also revealed that their collaboration will start in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Tianjin before gradually expanding nationwide.
Jointown has approximately 30 provincial-level pharmaceutical logistics centers and 54 municipal-level distribution logistics centers, creating a delivery logistics network that covers most county-level administrative regions nationwide.
