Event-focused Friend-making SNS App Jimu Completes Two Rounds of Funding

Shenzhen-based Blueberry Technology, operator of mobile event-focused friend-making SNS app Jimu, recently announced the completion of two rounds of funding: an RMB 5.5 mln angel funding round led by Innovation Angel Funds, and an RMB 7-digit pre-Series A round from Yuerong Capital.
The funding will mainly be used for developing new updates and promoting marketing partnerships. Jimu intends to launch three new updates with major features in over the next three months.
Jimu, released in April 2016, is a social networking platform aimed at the youth sector that helps users make friends with strangers who share similar interests. By analyzing information such as user profiles, location-based services, and interest groups, the platform will match up different types of users and provide them with targeted offline events which include music festivals and nationwide tours of artists.
Jimu, founded in January 2016, has amassed 850,000 users, with daily, weekly, and monthly active user rates at 28%, 45%, and 65%, respectively.
CEO Cai Dibiao said that Jimu's main goal at the moment is user acquisition and strengthening cooperation with offline brands.
