Children's Online English Reading Platform 'Reading Mate' Wins RMB 24 Mln Pre-A

Beijing-based Metrics Education Technology, operator of online English reading platform for children "Reading Mate," announced today the completion of RMB 24 mln in pre-Series A funding led by CDH Fund and with participation from Rater+ING. Reading Mate also announced the launch of two core products as part of a platform upgrade: Reading Mate American Classroom and Reading Mate Library.
The Reading Mate American Classroom app is designed to help children grasp the basic skills for self-directed reading, such as natural spelling, vocabulary, reading fluency, vocabulary comprehension, and reading comprehension.
Reading Mate American Classroom consists of 60 books and 180 lessons, and also includes an offline pack containing books, puzzles, flashcards, and good study habit charts for an interactive parent-child learning environment.
The Reading Mate Library is for children who already possess basic skills and can use reading for studying. The library contains more than 1,400 books suitable for children aged 6-16, with a hundred new additions every month. Reading Mate's library has already amassed 160,000 users.
Reading Mate Library is optimized for tablets, but is also available in a PC edition. The aim is to create a B2B2C model to provide teaching plans to schools and training centers and study plans for parents.
Reading Mate was founded in April 2013.
