Tmall Launches RMB 10 Bln Brand Investment Plan for Singles Day

Alibaba Group's (NYSE: BABA) B2C e-commerce site Tmall has announced a "Double Hundred" investment plan worth RMB 10 bln at a recent partners event in Beijing. Tmall plans to help at least 100 brands create a customized November Singles Day promotion each year.
A series of strategies will be put into place to build the relationship between brands and consumers as part of the comprehensive upgrade for "Tmall Super Brand Day." One such strategy is a partnership with Chinese microblogging platform Weibo (Nasdaq: WB) which will soon launch an all new channel called "You Wu Zhi," which will feature consumption-related posts from online celebrities.
Tmall is also working on an online to offline new retail plan which will look to offer brands with offline retail support by integrating retail businesses such as Suning (002024.SZ), Intime Retail (Group), Sanjiang Shopping Club (601116.SH), Shanghai Bailian Group (600827.SH), and Hema Xiansheng.
