Baidu Approved to Restart Live Streamed Quiz Show Following New Regulations

iFeng Tech, 2/24/18

Chinese internet conglomerate Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) official short video app Haokan Shipin has received approval from the State Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) to re-launch its livestream quiz show "Speed Challenge," becoming the first live streaming quiz show to return following SAPPRFT's announcement of tighter oversight of this type of program.

A spokesperson for Speed Challenge's production team said that the first round of the all-new quiz show would go live on February 24.

Multiple live streaming quiz shows were halted following SAPPRFT's policy announcement on February 15, the eve of China's lunar new year holiday.
