Panda Breeding Center, China Mobile's Migu Ally on Panda-themed IP Operations

Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base and telecom operator China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) new media subsidiary Migu Culture Technology recently announced plans to cooperate on panda-themed intellectual property operations. The parties will work together to develop and promote panda-themed brand and image IP worldwide through a variety of channels, including music, video, animation, literature, and game content.
Migu demonstrated examples of panda-themed audio and video ringtone content at a press event announcing the project. The ringtones fuse music with sounds made by giant pandas when being born, expressing love, singing, and communicating with research base staff. When using a video ringtone, a panda-related video will play on the user's mobile phone when they receive a call. Users can also record and upload their own video ringtones.
Migu's animation business will also develop a collection of panda names and images, and Migu's online video platform subsidiary Migu Shixun will partner with film institutions to develop panda-related documentaries and films.
