WeChat Pay, the in-app payment tool within Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app, recently announced new service provider digital marketing capabilities, which offer merchant service providers an advertising and marketing management engine.
Currently, WeChat Pay has more than 30,000 service providers. Using the new marketing functions, service providers will be able to place WeChat Moments user feed advertisements on behalf of merchant customers. Merchants will typically enjoy both traffic and revenue increases as a result of WeChat's 9-digit level traffic exposure, and precision ad targeting based on social activity and payment and consumption data.
WeChat Pay also announced a new WeChat Pay service provider assistant applet, which includes transaction analysis and payment interface quality monitoring functions. The functions allow service providers to use a mobile interface to check daily and monthly transaction data in real time, and the quality monitoring tools enable merchants to view payment system operating status at any time, from any location, so that any anomalies can be resolved quickly.
