SenseTime, SoftBank Join RMB 1.36 Bln Round in AI-based Video Solutions Firm Moviebook

Beijing-based AI video solutions provider Moviebook Technology recently announced completion of RMB 1.36 bln in Series D funding from more than ten investors and strategic partners including computer vision and AI technology developer SenseTime Technology, SoftBank China Venture Capital, Shanghai-based media firm Oriental Pearl Media (600637.SH), PAC, Shenzhen Qianhai Wutong M&A Fund, Langsheng Investment, and individual investor Ge Weidong.
Moviebook and SenseTime also signed a strategic partnership agreement, under which SenseTime will provide support for low-level AI algorithms for augmented reality and video analysis to support co-development of commercialization channels for AI technologies in the media and entertainment industries.
Moviebook develops video AI technologies for smart film production and uses capabilities for pixel and sub-pixel calculations, 3D reconstruction and 3D vision, and fine-grained video content analysis and structuring to provide technical solutions and commercialization services for content producers and platform channel operators. The company's product lines include video production, processing, distribution, and playback software.
