JD.com to Buy RMB 100 Mln in Servers from Dawning to Support AI, Big Data Projects

Tianjin-based server manufacturer Dawning Information Industry (Sugon) (603019.SH) has announced that in H1 2018 the company made a successful bid for Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com's (Nasdaq: JD) server procurement project and has now obtained RMB 100 mln to provide the company with GPU heterogeneous servers and related services. The procurement is being carried out to support the rapid development of JD.com's AI and big data projects.

In addition, on August 2, JD.com officially launched its AI accelerator program in which the development of a variety of AI aspects have been promoted to help form a complete AI ecosystem.
