Qualcomm's X5 LTE Vehicle Communications Chip to Use Qianxun's Positioning Services

Shanghai-based provider of positioning services Qianxun Spatial Intelligence and international chipset giant Qualcomm have reached a strategic cooperation agreement to integrate high-precision location services into Qualcomm's Snapdragon X5 LTE automobile communications chip. The new product will hit the market as early as the third quarter of 2018.
Editor's Note: Qianxun Spatial Intelligence is a 50:50 joint venture formed between state-owned weapons manufacturer China North Industries Group Corporation, also known as the Norinco Group, and Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA) in 2015. Qianxun builds upon China's self-developed Beidou Navigation Satellite System, using cloud computing and various global positioning technologies to build a location-based services (LBS) cloud platform, providing accurate positioning services for companies and developers according to their needs. The platform also provide data collection, data mining, and other value-added data services.
