Messaging App 'Bullet Messaging' Exceeds 7 Mln Users, Plans RMB 1 Bln User-acquisition Push

Luo Yonghao, CEO at Beijing-based mobile OS developer Chuizi Technology and an early investor in Beijing-based Kuairu Technology, operator of mobile instant messaging app Zidan Duanxin (Bullet Messaging), recently published a message on microblogging platform Weibo, stating that Bullet Messaging now has more than 7 mln active users, but that user growth is beginning to cool.
Luo said that Bullet Messaging plans to take three actions going forward. First, it will strengthen software stability. Second, it will focus on recruitment and improve core product functionality. Third, it will implement a new user promotion strategy over the next two weeks and invest RMB 1 bln over the next six months to add 100 mln users to its network.
In addition, another Weibo user recently published a photo depicting Luo Yonghao with Satya Nadella, CEO at US technology firm Microsoft, leading many online users to guess that Microsoft intends to invest in Bullet Messaging. However, Luo Yonghao responded by denying that Bullet Messaging has reached an investment agreement with Microsoft.
