Bytedance to Establish R&D Center and AI Research Institute in Nanjing

Beijing-based Bytedance Technology, operator of online and mobile news portal platform Today's Headlines, recently announced that it will establish a research center in Nanjing. A representative for the company said that over the next two years the company will gradually build a technology research team at the center with approximately 300 staff, including technical talent such as researchers, computer engineers, and product developers.

The Nanjing research center will also set up an AI research institute which will draw on research talent from Nanjing universities and the city's strong data and technology resources to tackle key problems in AI and explore opportunities for commercialization. The institute will also help to boost development of Nanjing's AI industry.
